The Falconer

The falconer

THE FALCONER

I've often sought to make lonesome trips to space
climb on your wings and brace
as you takeoff, fly off with ceaseless grace
and vanish without a single trace

I'd sit casually
and dream that its real.
hear the whirr of the swift passing wind

sharing the secrets of freedom in a whisper with me.

For my life was a nightmare, I was King in a kingdom of chiefs.
Locked in a palace from when the sun sets till when it dawned on me
I could only see the sun once in a period of weeks.
Ruling a people I knew not how, for I possessed not the wisdom nor wit.
I envied the Royal Falconer...I used to watch him feed u.
I'd sit at boring meetings for political Issues
And dream of all the places both of u had been to.

And I watched him jealously high up from my window.
And he watched me enviously, down low from the meadows.

But tonight I no longer own this crown.
I've sneaked off, picked a few disguises and clothes in town.
I'm the new falconer...
let's go quick...
now.
before its discovered that the falconer has become king,
and the king is nowhere to be found.
so fly away with me to countries southern
Swirl me till I'm drunk and howling.
These wings give flaps that don't come with designer cloths and garments

...for with wings u soar
I'm sore without them.

Make nations gawk, Let history talk, let the villains clap.
let maidens sing 'how crazed is he?', let the minions yap
about the sad faced little king of a weather beaten land
who abandoned a castle, rejected a kingdom,

n picked a pair of wings over a feather in a cap.
