The Sound of A Man Breaking

The sound of a man breaking

Its the sound his brain makes when he's lost in thought
The screech screech that escapes through his ears
When his mental devices are crumbling
When his ineptitude is telling

And failure's attention is undivided

The sound we hear when misfortunes cling to his shoulders
And swing forwards and backwards like we used to do
To the doors when we were kids

That's when to listen
And you will hear it
The creak creak groans from his weary soul
The ratatatata agony of his beating heart

The sound a man makes when he is breaking is not the trumpet call of his finish
It is not the telltale signs of his detachment from reality
It is the prophetic gongongongong that soon he will be.
